PEX Out and About; Roxy Theater: Fish Wars
Introducing PEX Out and Abouts: This winter we’ll be hitting the town with some new community programming – PEX Out and Abouts. We’ll seek the warmth and shelter from local businesses that have ample space for PEX community members! Our goal is to keep these outings all ages, family friendly and low cost. It’ll be an opportunity to discover local activities together. Don’t worry, we’ll still be doing our regular thing at PEX, but with our growing community, the coming weather and our tiny space – we thought it might be fun to offer another way to connect with rad PEX peeps while exploring Bremerton hot spots. Keep your eye out for these events... and remember, it’ll be a new location every time... and it won’t be the PEX parking lot.
The Roxy Theatre will be showing three Native stories throughout the month of November during its Indigenous Film Series. For this first PEX Out & About, let’s meet up to watch this free showing of the documentary FISH WAR on Thursday, November 20th. The movie starts at 7pm and will have a discussion after.
RSVP using the Eventbrite link (walk-ins also welcome). FISH WAR: In 1974, a conservative federal judge upheld Indigenous fishing rights in Washington, ending violent clashes with law enforcement and laying the foundation for environmental stewardship in this locally produced activism documentary.
